Maya Jaguar Rattling Vessel
This stunning Maya vessel ca. 500 A.D. has a Jaguar's head attached to the belly of which contains a rattling ball. Features a ferocious, fang baring mouth and surrounding the head is a hook patterned collar. Similar motifs decorate the limbs and tail on the back of the vessel, the rim has a slightly raised lip. This vessel has a beautiful cream, brown, and reddish brown color, with a fully functional rattle. There are a few stress fractures surrounding the vessel although they are completely stable and some covered in growth. Height 5 ½ inches Diameter: 5 ¾ inches.
